Your body can have adverse reactions to any foreign object... like IMPLANTS!

The moment your implants are placed, your body begins to protect you by creating a capsule (scar tissue) around the implants. This is the body's immune response to a foreign object. Many times this will then initiate a host of other auto immune type reactions/symptoms. You could notice breast implant illness symptoms within months of receiving your implants or even after years of having them without any issues.

At this point there is NO real testing to determine if the symptoms you are experiencing are from your implants. Often women find that they bounce from doctor to doctor with no answers as to why they feel so awful.

After proper explant, most women report relief and healing from most if not all issues.

Proper explant (removal) of your Breast Implants and scar tissue (capsule) by an experienced Board Certified Plastic Surgeon is the next step to finding wellness.

Finding a surgeon

It is good to consult with more than 1 surgeon to find the doctor who best fits your needs.

Here is a list of questions you may want to ask at your consultations:

How many explants have you performed?
Where do you perform surgery? (usually surgical center or hospital, do not allow them to do this in office)
Can you guarantee you will remove all capsule (scar tissue) via total capsulectomy or enbloc?
Approximately how long will surgery take?
Are you willing to take photos/video of the surgery so I can be assured all capsule has been removed?
If I so desire, are you willing to return my implants to me?
Will I have drains?
Will pathology be done and if so, what will it test for?
Do you recommend I need a lift?
Approximately how long will my recovery be?
What testing needs to be done prior to surgery?
How much will surgery be and do you work with insurance companies?

Breast Implant Associated Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma (BIA-ALCL) is not breast cancer—it is a unique type of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma

(cancer of the immune system).

BIA-ALCL is associated with textured implants or women with a history of textured implants.

Please note that some of the symptoms of BIA-ALCL mimic other conditions, including those of other implant-related conditions such as capsular contracture. If you have textured implants or a history of textured implants, BIA-ALCL can only be ruled out by having fluid and/or tissues examined by a pathologist following the NCCN guideline testing protocols.
